Italianartist Maurizio Nannucci’s work focuses on artistic research of art and space, light and shadow, colour image and language, as well as perception of nature and artificiality. On top of that, he explores the use of different kinds of media including sound, photography, video, artists’ books and editions. 

Focusing on formulating a new aesthetic order for contemporary society, his theoretical approach elaborates and gives visibility to concepts and thoughts. This reveals his substantial thinking about the relations between culture and society and the evolution of new models of perception and communication. 

Nannucci chooses to relate his artistic approach to urban and public architectural spaces, so as to make his artwork more accessible. The neon words suspended between the possibility of significance and physical reality of being a sign, also open itself up to a dialectical interaction with the surrounding space. Using neon also allows him to shape and reshape space into sensations and concepts, as well as open up new perspectives and horizons in interacting with the world.
