“Alois Mosbacher has elaborated a huge arsenal of enigmatic, non-defined objects, strange and inexplicable figurations, populated by artificially combined elements of natureand artifacts. In his paintings there appear mysterious, confused, labyrinth-like spaces, forests and fields with trees, flowers, and plants. The whole vegetative richness is permanently transforming itself into a chaotic, irrational, irritating world of darkness. Mosbacher’s painterly universe offers an extremely poetic and powerful visual metaphor of our reality as an obscure, irrational, somewhat theatric stage of events and happenings which have no clear inner structure, which lack any coherence or logic, which seem to work under the conduction of invisible, inexplicable, irrational rules. At the same time, paradoxically enough, his picturesque painterly world appears as something naturally given, as something basically probable and credible, as something almost evident and vegetative, organic and vivid, familiar and near to us: neither frightening, aggressive, nor negative. In a subversive way,Alois Mosbacher confronts us with a hidden universe of our inner world, with a forgotten, but still vivid and effective, powerful empire of freed, unlimited imagination, in which probabilities and improbabilities mix with each other andcreate a playful uncertainty.” (Lorand Hegyi)
